"I believe that treatment is most beneficial when it is individualized, flexible, and meets the needs of the patient. I typically use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), which has been shown to be effective in treating a variety of concerns. The CBT model states that the way we think influences the way we feel and act and that problems arise when we get stuck in a negative spiral. One of my goals in therapy is to help patients understand this process and gain insight into their own unhealthy patterns. Another goal is to help them learn healthier coping skills and create new patterns so that they feel empowered to be successful, even after therapy has ended. In my office, everyone can expect to be welcomed, respected, and cared for. I strive to maintain an environment where anyone can feel heard, accepted, and safe - this is a judge-free zone! What actually happens during sessions will look a little differently for each patient, based on each person’s needs. It could involve talking, writing, making artwork, playing games, etc. Therapy is about growth (which means getting out of your comfort zone) so it will take some effort and may be challenging, but I will be supporting you along the way. We will work together to strengthen both your confidence and your skills to help you overcome obstacles and live a happier, healthier life!"
